Letter to Covalence about Petrobras’ products
We were informed that you have received a set of materials concerning Petrobras and the quality of some of our products. Therefore, I would like to clarify some points related to this issue. Petrobras is facing mistaken criticism of its commitment to environmental regulation in Brazil. The company has been addressing mitigation in relation to air pollution for a long time, being part of the Program for Air Pollution Control of Automotive Vehicles (PROCONVE) from the National Environmental Council (CONAMA) related to Brazilian Environmental Ministry since 1986. Moreover, the company has been showing forefront actions in this field, such as: addicting ethanol to gasoline since 1982; removing beforehand lead from gasoline in 1989 a head decision in the whole world; reducing diesel and gasoline sulfur level in the beginning of the 90s; launching “Podium products line” which present higher performance and are more environmental friendly and promoting the Biodiesel Program in Brazil. > Continue.
